It's not 'naive' to pray for Bill Clinton. It's being obedient to God in what is a very difficult task.........to pray for a sinner to come to repentence.......a sinner reviled and repulsive because of the evil he has done.

It's not that they are unaware of the evil. It's just that obedience to God supercedes personal feelings against the man.

I hope you'll note that I am putting this in the third person, because I find it difficult to impossible to do this........and I consider that to be my own weakness as a Christian.
