Genesis 3:22
And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever."

Us? Was there a mouse in his pocket?
Until posts #5 and #17 by the previously banned poster, the thread was about prayer.
The "90%" content figure that you reference seems to be in direct correlation to the disruptive nature of those two posts.
You know...for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.
> You know...for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.
Every time you pray, God kills a kitten?
This IS starting to look like the religion forum. Next up: Theonomy, Catholic bashing, Mormon bashing, dogs and cats sleeping together.
>Until posts #5 and #17 ... the disruptive nature of those two posts.
I'd be interested in how you see those two posts as "disruptive." What exactly did I say that would cause a reasonable person to go nuts?
Pet the kittens gently! *whallop!*
Apparently individual accountability and responsibility are no longer conservative values.
Having said that, I certainly don't wish to beat up people who make mistakes. Even fatal ones.
But I have known enough pilots to know that some are more prone to mistakes than others.
I saw nothing wrong with those posts. I happen to agree with them.
You choose the wrong runway, people tend to die if it is too short.
Pretty basic physics.
Huh?
Don't get it...doesn't sound like an equal reaction to me.
But...If that were true (hypothetically in some deranged world), don't let PETA know! They would be looking to throw Meow Mix at St. Peter, or protest at the pearly gates, or even boycott heaven altogether (no worries on this last one...I think that has already been covered).
Considering the scandal where they were killing dogs and dumping them in dumpsters, perhaps they'd all just start praying nonstop.
> Don't get it...doesn't sound like an equal reaction to me.
That's been my concern. Someone posts a news article in the news section, tacks on "prayer request" - even though the news article is *not* about a "prayer request," and then people get snippy when someone introduces something other than rah-rah to the discussion.
Want a prayer? Fine: Oh, mighty Allfather Odin, please smite the goofballs who think it's a fair notion to discount flight crew responsibility for deadly accidents if they lay blame for the accident on Satan!
> You choose the wrong runway, people tend to die if it is too short. Pretty basic physics.
You forgot: Satan swapped the runways.
Pretty basic theology. Glory!
> Apparently individual accountability and responsibility are no longer conservative values.
Consider this:
Liberal values: humans are meaningless bugs, to be aborted at will, their rights trampled, their property taken and dreams quashed.
Conservative values (as displayed by many on this thread): if something bad happened, Satan did it. If something good happens, God did it. Humans are meaningless bugs.
And the fundamental functional difference is... ummm... errr.....
And thanks for the meaningless, side-tracking (and patently obvious) physics snippet...but the fact remains (and so does your post that I addressed) that the "90%" content figure that you referenced was a direct result of posts #5 and #17.
It is like telling a little boy that he can't throw rocks into the fountain because it disrupts the fountain and he, and his buddies, defend the action by pointing out the "disruptive" ripples in the fountain (which are a obviously a result of the rocks).
If you are going to defend your disruptive friend, offer a better defense...yours stinks.
Whatever.
