"Global Climate change, on the other hand, should be focused on
1) to what extent is the climate really changing;
2) where does that change damage human survival;
3) where does that change help humanity; and
4) to what extent should humanity change its activities to mitigate the change."
Excellent. That is what the plan should be, if people were using logic and reason. But liberals operate on feelings, not logic, so the debate is nowhere near logical.
I believe it is unlikely that these major cold waves have been gradual. Just look at the map in the article. For example around 74 thousand years ago Toba volcano exploded leaving a crater 18 miles by 65 miles. Around 640,000 years ago Yellowstone exploded leaving a crater at least 30 miles in diameter. Both of these dates show a major drop in temperature. Other drops may have been caused by major bolide hits in the ocean we have not yet discovered. We have no idea why they are occurring at a little more than 100,000 year intervals. The next one could easily happen in the next few thousand years and even in our life (or death) time. When that happens, if not directly destroyed I imagine the British will migrate to Australia, India, and South America, wait a hundred thousand years and then move back. ;-(
Regarding North Sea finds, I think you could Google Dodger Banks for more information.
