Ah yes, soccer's offside rule.
A player is ruled offside if he is closer to the goal line than any other defender at the time a pass is made in his direction.
That's why when they show the replays they always slow it down when the pass is struck, to see if the target player of the pass is behind the defenders or not.
I'm no expert, and I just wrote this off the top of my head, but I think that is how the rule works.
Now, would you like to know how the infield fly rule works?

I play it most weekends with my Indian friends. I am the only American though. If you play baseball, you can pick it up pretty quick, except for the throwing. It is hard to throw without bending your elbow.
