Both candidates have until noon Sept. 12 to pick a running mate, and both have remained mum on their prospects. Crist's short list is rumored to include House Speaker Allan Bense and Jacksonville state Rep. Jennifer Carroll, a former Navy lieutenant and African American.
This would be an excellent choice for Crist. In fact, I kid you not, I was thinking just today: I wonder who he'll pick as Lt Gov -- and, she would be perfect.
I hope he picks her and she agrees to be his running mate!

This race is going to draw a record turn-out if she is on that ticket. Very exciting!

Crist's short list is rumored to include...Jacksonville state Rep. Jennifer Carroll, a former Navy lieutenant and African American. If Jennifer is qualified to be Lt. Governor, SHE would be an awesome choice for the political ramifications. More evidence the Republican party is more diverse than the socialist Democrats.!
I did not vote for Crist in the primary, but he will have my support in the general...and he appears to be making the right moves in the 24 hours since his victory: from his gracious acceptance speech to this news.
KEEP FLORIDA RED!!

I know this is anecdotal but all the Floridians I've spoken to believe that Crist is the perfect candidate to win in the general election.
He's for lower taxes, has a proven record as Att'y General for being a harsh prosecutor for all who engage in any form of child abuse, and basically supports the Bush agenda (Jeb, I should add for all non-Floridians).
Relative to his running mate -- who cares? John Nance Garner, Vice President of the United States, is famous for saying that the vice presidency isn't worth a bucket of warm piss.
Here in FL we feel pretty much the same way.

Well, I'm in FL, too, and with all due respect to your opinion -- I care very much who is the running mate. Gov Jeb Bush selected a woman to be Lt Gov for his 2nd term, and that choice made history, as it was the first time a woman in this state ever served in such a high-level position. And, I thought Toni Jennings, a former teacher and business owner, did a great job as Lt Gov.
But, now, to have a black woman who is qualified, and a vet -- well, we are making history again, here. And, to me, that is very exciting. I think all women voters will now take an extra long look at the GOP gov ticket, no matter where those female voters may be in the political aisle.
So, I think it does matter.

I'm waiting for her concession speech! To tell you the truth, I stopped visiting the FL site because I became disgusted with her irrational support of Gallagher and her slanderous (in my opinion) references to Crist.
