WASHINGTON President Bush, warning Americans that "terrorists are still active... and still trying to kill our people," announced Wednesday the transfer of 14 key terrorist suspects from secret CIA custody to the U.S. Navy base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, including alleged Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed.
He also announced that he was asking Congress to pass legislation that would allow the United States to try the terror suspects for war crimes.
"The families of the 9/11 attacks have waited patiently for justice," Bush said in making the announcement.
Issuing a warning to terrorists around the world, the president added, "We will find you, and we will bring you to justice."
The president's comments came during a White House speech on the War on Terror, his third such speech, and before an audience of 9/11 families and first responders.
Bush acknowledged for the first time the existence of secret prisons to hold terrorist suspects, and outlined how the CIA and the government's intelligence and law enforcement agencies were fighting a secret war against Al Qaeda to "stop attacks before they occur."
He detailed how the administration plans to legally try the more than 400 detainees held at Guantanamo Bay.The suspects will be transferred to Defense Department custody as a first step in preparing them for trial, a senior administration official. The suspects would be afforded some legal protections consistent with the Geneva conventions, he said

Kind of curious how EVERY one of your posts in 100% hyper negative scream DNC Talking points at the GOP. Why is that? How about ONE time you actually be FOR something?
But that right, as an a Democrat "Virtual Campaigner" YOU have nothing to be for. No ideas, no plans, no agenda. Nothing but endlessly screaming hysteria, hate and bile at better men who ARE getting the job done.
Ironic that YOU accuse other people of being butt clowns. That description fits your posting to a T.

How about ONE time you actually be FOR something?Absolutely, I am for WINNING the Global War on Terror and getting a handle on illegal immigration threatening our nation...and if stumbling, bumbling Bush can't do it then he should step aside and let someone (Tony McPeak, William Crowe, James Buchanan, John McCain, for instance) click here who can!

read the article in post #5 - that's what the responses apply to, not the thread topic.

Surprise me ONE time. Be FOR something. Being a 100% is unatural. Life is a bell curve. When you see a Freeper who continually falls on one end of the curve, it indicates they are not actually thinking about anything just responding based on rote programing. Being knee jerk negative about EVERYTHING is an example of that sort of pseudo intellectual behavior.
That sort of emotive knee jerk negativity is NOT an idication of intellectual ability. Quit the opposet. One can see that level of "intellect" in action on any high school campus a hundred times a day.

Find it odd how you ran around for the last two weeks screaming Hate Rummy Talking points and now suddenly the Democrats are pushing for a Vote of No Confidence on Rummy So are you just this politically ignorant or are you actively working for the Democrats?
Curious how your posting march 100% in lock step with the current DNC Campaign propaganda. Why is that?

read the article in post #5 - the Dems are never going to be able to explain those kinds of details to an average american - that's my only point.

Looking at your 100% negative posting habits plus your complete inability to EVER say anything negative about the Democrat Party Leadership, I suspect this article explains pretty much where you two are coming from.
Viral Marketing in the Political Game
http://abaraxas.blogspot.com/2006/02/viral-marketing-in-political-game.html#links
This article, originally published in 04, seems to fit closely with the campaign tactics today. Here is the original link to my article:
http://www.mbaassociation.org/index.php?name=Articles&op=show&id=518
Have you noticed similar political comments strewn through message boards around the Internet? Do you think it is ironic that many average folks seem to come up with the same thoughts? This is no coincidence! In 2004 the Democratic party is capitalizing on the newest marketing trend, viral marketing. Viral marketing describes any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, creating the potential for exponential growth in the message's exposure and influence.
http://www.wilsonweb.com/wmt5/viral-principles.htm
This is not happenstance either. I have been an almost religious lurker on DNC message boards and have even sat in on party strategy conference calls, thanks to some of my Democrats for Bush friends forwarding e-mails invites to me. I noticed about six months ago comments coming up about some new strategies the DNC was planning and ways to maximize these social engineering techniques learned from viral marketing firms.
The following are just a few of the current viral marketing and social engineering strategies the DNC is using and ratcheting up to levels never seen before:
Fake Blogs- Have you noticed the consistency of the messages many bloggers have, especially from the hate-Bush crowd. There is actually a group of Democrats who are creating hundreds of fake blogs, each with a unique identity, repeating the same message. Many of these blogs have even inspired news editorials. Read any articles by Molly Ivins lately?
Urban Legend E-Mail Campaigns- We have all received e-mails with some, completely false urban legend, such as the President closing hospitals or cutting vet benefits. Typically these were sent by someone you knew, and received by someone they knew. The hope behind these e-mail campaigns is not to alert people of facts, but instead to spread as much doubt as possible, even though it is spread by obvious falsities.
Message Board Artists- The message board artists main goal is to, according to DNC strategy, is to frequent common right-wing sites, such as the Free Republic, and post comments or the aforementioned urban legends. The focus is to create splits within the Republican ranks. There is a focused effort to create rifts in the Republicans by bringing up issues, such as immigration or balanced budget, that they know are hotspots and could cause many Republicans to doubt the party and possibly not vote. These artists even frequent non-political sites inserting comments here and there, spreading the virus of their lies.
Article Passing- Articles, such as the tripe written by Molly Ivins, are passed along and photocopied. One person may pick up a copy of an article at their local DNC headquarters, union office, teacher's lounge, etc. The article is so 'interesting' that they would most likely want to share that article.
False Anger- We all have seen message board postings where a very long article is posted trashing the president, then near the bottom is one tiny comment about how wrong the author is. The point of some of these posts is not to trash the article but to get the article read. Again, planting the seeds of doubt and spreading false messages.
Be aware that the entire focus of this viral marketing strategy is to have the threads of doubt spread throughout the voting public. They dont care if the information is false. To the left, it is all about power.
Be aware of these strategies, and instead of ignoring them, fight! Do not let urban legends go unchallenged. Challenge message board posters who you know are wrong. Use truth to challenge the lies

Find it odd how you ran around for the last two weeks screaming Hate Rummy Talking points and now suddenly the Democrats are pushing for a Vote of No Confidence on Rummy So are you just this politically ignorant or are you actively working for the Democrats?I don't hate anyone and I am definitely NOT a dim (dyed-in-the-wool libertarian). I'm not saying the president isn't a nice man you'd like to have a beer with, but I am saying he lacks good leadership skills. He's been vague on laying out that the GWOT means that we're in a war against all of those embracing jihad (as evidenced that it was only a week or so ago that the administration finally got around to the term "islamofacist")--well, I've known that we've been in a war against Islam since the USS Cole bombing (the day a good friend lost his son).

Bush turned the table on them. The Democrats will be forced to defend Al Qaeda and to not support a wartime President. Both of which are politically stupid moves. If they want to do that - they're invited to filibuster protecting our country against the very terrorists who attacked us on 9/11.

The Democrats have been giving aid and comfort to the enemy for at least five years, so nothing has changed.

The Dems are screwed?? Terrorists now are to be tried as war criminals in U. S. courts, fully defended by Ramsey Clark and a panoply of volunteer ACLU enemies of liberty, who will claim, in part, that inasmuch as the Congress has not formally declared war on anyone these "illegally" detained defendants cannot be guilty of war crimes. That will be merely one step in a campaign to tie these prosecutions in judicial knots forever. Such are the fruits of federal judges assuming control over the prosecution of a war. And you say the Dems are screwed? Instead, America is being screwed.

Yeah but they've always been able to pull off rhetorical tricks to do that - here Bush is forcing them to make a choice between pandering to Daily Kos and the Jihad Cindy kooks or looking out for their own political survival. Its gonna be fun to watch.

We want Ramsey Clark, the ACLU, and the Moonbats to come out into the light. Since they hold the dem purse strings, the dems will have no choice but to fight this....and get pummeled beyond recognition.
I went to see a mindless action flick, "Crank" this weekend. The main character throws a paki cab driver out of his cab and onto the streets and yelss "Al Queda, Al Queda" whereupon two little old ladies proceed to break every bone in the cab drivers body. That is how America feels and that is something the cocktail inner beltway elites do not understand.
Let the dems step right in front of this train.

..you Bushbots are all alike--paranoid, super sensitive to criticism, defensive to the point that you cannot parry with reasonable argument, complacent about any mistakes the administration makes, and deaf to the truth.
Again, the president is a nice guy (I even voted for him twice)...but the captain of the Titanic was probably a nice guy too. My point: We've hit an iceberg in the GWOT and it's time to face 3 facts: (1.) Repair the damage, (2.) swim (3.) sink.
If there is a sectarian civil war in Iraq and we must pull out it will be the fault of Rumsfeld for not having enough troops to have prevented it and Bush for backing him.
If we have another attack on the U.S. and it is determined that the terrorists penetrated our borders it will be the fault of Chernoff for not having enough resources in place to have prevented it and Bush for backing him.
If we have a complete and total Democratic takeover of both the House and the Senate, it will be the fault of Ken Mehlman for not having the political skills to prevented it, and Bush for backing him.
Now, I came up through the Navy, MNJohnnie, and I learned the HARD WAY about ultimate accountability--it's time you did too!

Oh yeah, real "Dem" here LOL...well, I have been here longer than you have gopher boy! I've been here long enough to recognize "flip-flops" and I can name you a dozen just in the last year that the administration has made--including the turn-around today on Al Qeida prisoner status--flip flops the size of Kerry and Clinton, and you cannot name me even one that a "real" president (Reagan) made.
Well, gotta go and flush the "johnnie"...you know what they say: "If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown and round flush it down.
