The Invasion of America is a much more deadly threat to US than all the Muslims on the planet.

What's the worst the Muslims could do? Nuke a city? Nuke ten cities? Spread a plague of smallpox? America would bounce back from anything -- as long as it stayed America. Look at Germany & Japan.

But if the Third World colonizes America and drags us down to its level, then America will cease to exist. Look at Rome.

All previous attempts at regulating them has resulted in pushing them underground, where no regulation can touch them or affect their jobs.

That is sooooo wrong I don't know where to begin! What attempts at "regulating"? What do you even mean by "regulating"?

The efforts at ENFORCMENT during the Eisenhower years ("Operation Wetback" were wildly successful. Since the last amnesty, however, there has been NO effort at enforcement.

The technology is already in place to instantly verify a person's SSN. If the current administration was not bought and paid for by the US Chamber of Commerce, it could direct its Cabinet to crack down on employment of illegal aliens tomorrow. Millions would return home within months. It IS that simple! Really!

The congress has tabled anything about immigration with the impending election. This is disturbing. It sounds like they are afraid to do before the election what they intend to do after the election, presumably because if they do they won't get reelected.

My fear exactly.

The House passed an enforcement bill.

Gridlock followed when the President rejected this popular initiative, instead calling for amnesty and increased migration, and when the Senate went on to pass it's insane national-suicide bill.

Define "underground". Give examples. Define "out of the loop". Give examples and specifics.

I don't have the time or inclination to run a school on the history of illegal immigration. The operation wetback that you speak of, has nothing to do with what I am talking about.

Let's just take it from the 86 amnesty to the present.

We had multiple chances to stop and at least slow the progress of illegal immigration after the amnesty. Every attempt was blocked by Conservatives because it involved the regulation of business. What they did as the problem got worse was to use Border control as the answer, overlooking the fact that they had changed what once was a two way movement across the border to a one way trap! The illegal now feared attempting to return to Mexico and stayed, even though his job was seasonal.

Conservatives fought the only method to control the flow, by regulating the businesses that hired them and this remains true today.

So here you all are, offing your sage advice about more border enforcement.

Been there, Done that......Are you expecting different results?

I really get tired of pointing out the obvious to people who refuse to see it, or even accept the premise that I am indeed pointing out the obvious.

Whoopeedooo!

Sadly, your report will mean nothing to a lot of people. Their voices are being stiffled while politicians do an end run on them, but what the hey... it's for the good of the party that doesn't give a darn what they think anymore.

Is this a wierd dynamic or what?

You're right MinuteGal. Thank you.

Wow... what an incredible list of unConstitutional CRAP that this Congress has wasted time on.

Thanks!

...so the House has no choice to to drop the whole vomit filled Senate Bill s. 2611 into the dumpster.

For the time being. My suspicion is that if they could do it by a secret vote, the House would pass an amnesty/guestworker program, too. My fear is that they will try to do so after November, hoping voters will forget by 2008.

Conservatives fought the only method to control the flow . . . wrong! Malaysia recently had an amnesty that all true conservatives could support - illegals there had a limited amount of time to leave the country without being punished (amnesty) after the deadline, all illegals would have their property confiscated (fruits of their crimes), receive three strokes of the cane, and be imprisoned.

Result: Illegals flooded OUT of Malaysia due to this Amnesty. The Malaysian president enforces their laws - can we say the same of ours?

I really get tired of pointing out the obvious to people who refuse to see it, or even accept the premise that I am indeed pointing out the obvious.

Your "premise" is that you can't crack down on employers of illegals, so you must "regulate" them -- which I suspect is your way of creating a guest worker program.

Don't blame the current situation on "conservatives." There is nothing "conservative" about greedy Chamber of Commerce businessmen and their corrupt political puppets who'd sell out our country for cheap labor.

I just thought I would copy and paste this for posterity.

If what you wrote is any indication of your understanding of this issue, I can now completely understand why you are confused..

"hint"......Cracking down on businesses that hire illegals requires regulation of businesses. This is and has been the problem for more than 20 years now. Conservatives will not allow business regulation, because their constituency prohibits it.

This makes them completely psychotic on this issue. And you cannot see it.

This is why border controls are the only measure they ever consider, and why we have the problem we have today. We created a Mexican trap and we now have plenty of them. Too many! But it's too difficult for Conservatives to do the things necessary that would have prevented this or to do the things necessary to correct the problem today.

The democrats don't want to do anything and the republicans are spouting old ideas that have no merit.

Since so many of you have been raising such a fuss, the political reality now is that nothing will be done.

It's all happened before, so I am not at all surprised. history repeats indefinitely until someone learns....
