It just irks me when someone can walk around 24 / 7 with armed security guards.....yet they won't allow or trust me with a firearm to protect myself and my loved ones. Something seems distinctly "un-American" about that.

I agree. Unfortunately, many of my Christian brothers and sisters see pols wanting to outlaw firearms and they don't see anything wrong with it. In this case, Guiliani has other downsides that will turn them off, but if he were pro-life and pro-traditional marriage I expect a great many Christians wouldn't care if he were pro-big govt and pro-gun control.
