Reason for this announcement today:

1) Finished questioning the men and have to bring them into the open

2) Court rulings have impaired military commissions. Prohibits outrages on personal dignity and humiliating treatment. Those are vague and undefined and can interprted differently. SOme believe our military personnel who question terrorists could be at risk under war crimes act simply for doing their jobs in a professional way. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Our military personnel go face to face with the most dangerou smen every day and they've worked day and night to find out what the terrorists know to stop attacks.

We owe them our thanks for keeping us safe and clear rules so they can continue to do their jobs.

So today I'm asking Congress to clarify the rules for our personnel fighting the war on terror.

I'm asking Congress to list the specific violatins that would be under the war crimes act.

I'm asking Congress make explicit by following the standards of the detainnee act....(couldn't get it)

I'm asking Congress to make it clear that captured Terrorists can't use the Geneva conventions to sue our personel in US courts. The men and women who protect us shouldn't fear prosecution because they're doing their jobs.

The need for this is urgent.

I'm asking Congress to ...

LOL! Nothing like a "put up or shut up" challenge. Should be pretty hard to demagogue this.
