1. Our questioning of these terrorists is basically complete and it is time to proceed to trials
2. The Supreme Court has made a decision which has painted us into a corner regarding Military Tribunals. The based this decision on a Geneva Convention Article which is vague and could be interpreted many different ways.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. Intelligence value that comes from interrogation notwithstanding, there's immense PR value in bringing terrorists to justice. That has a positive influence in events all its own, and in an arena that we've not been particularly good at.
We need to publicly bring terrorists to justice. Not in a glitzy media circus, but in a solemn tribunal. I'm glad to see that we're finally putting these guys down Nuremburg style.
