On several occasions, the national press has utterly failed to do its self-professed job. That is, to bring we the people a nuanced, fair picture of events and what our leaders are doing. One of the reasons for their failures is to be unable to get beyond what is going on in their own heads - in this case their obsession with why President Bush is not admitting the mistakes they think he should own up to.

I'll stipulate that such is a valid question, and that it is not necessarily Democratic talking points to ask it. But it has very limited importance, and a national journalist ought to have a little more curiosity about what the President actually is saying.

Gregory is a first-rate a-hole. At a Presidential press conference, he asked Bush if he was "sorry" for any decisions he had made as President.
He had a choice of about a million decent questions to ask about any number of policies, and he chose that obnoxious question.

I'll never watch or listen to anything he has to say about any subject. I hate the SOB.
