WOO HOO I love this show
We've just recently discovered it...but it seems to be a hoot - yesterday's Geoduck Clamming episode had my butt rolling on the floor.

I wonder if he is going to clean out the oil sump for a tank battalion. I had to do that once - after that, I learned to "make myself scarce".

I love the show, but I really fear he could end up like Steve Irwin. I cringe sometimes when he does stuff and not because it is dirty.
Yeah, he's done some that were very dangerous. I figured something would have happened to him before Irwin, since Irwin was an expert at most of the stuff that he was doing, while Mike just blindly walks into these jobs.

The ostrich one was great. My favorite is the gator farm.

The ones that still make me laugh is the Oklahoma noodling one
(I like to give the Okies I know a hard time about that one)...
As an Okie (1956-1995), I'm with you on that one.
The more insane thing is that noodlin' ain't a job...it's a hobby!
Friends tried to get me to try it...but I refused.
I know that with my luck I'd find a snapping turtle on my first try!
And IIRC, the noodlin' virus is spreading. I think Missouri just
legalized a season for it.

I'm so pissed off at the Discovery Channel for getting political with that Koppel show. That ad where he is peaking out from the dark room through venetian blinds painted as the American flag gets me mad enough to throw a fit. Damn traitors couldn't sell their propaganda on networks so now they're here to educate us on "keeping our perspective" on issues.

Correction. The funniest one of all is the show on the monkeys that he did in South Africa. Hilarious!

It seems like the educational channel shows are cursed. Remember Indian Larry? Then there was that guy from that short lived show about Airplane art who died suddenly in his sleep. It seems that there was another who hosted one of the home remodeling shows who died. Obviously a few guys who have appeared on "the most dangerous catch" have died.

Rowe has a sense of humor and people skills that anyone could be proud of, he does a lot of damage while being funny and doesn't seem to torque off too many suits.
They've shown how they make the episodes - I was amazed - they literally show up with a cameraman or two, a sound guy, and a producer, and that's it - no script.
He said they get the letters or emails, call up the person, talk for a few minutes, and then get on the road. The fact that it literally is unscripted/planned, and he still manages to be that funny, is a tribute to his sense of humor/people skills.
Not many people can meet total strangers and be that comfortable or put them at ease that fast, especially when you think about the nature of why he's there.

Good show. Gets in there and gets filthified. Interesting too.
Refreshing to see after all those idiot home improvement shows with the little cute ninny girl hosts who let Paco, Juan and Bubba suffer all the hard labor making their "visions" happen.

The only ad I've seen for tonight was brief and mentioned spending some time with some Army mechanics. It did show him driving a vehicle through what looked like some kind of obstacle course. Army mechanics - I'm sure they'll find some really dirty jobs for him.

And he seems to genuinely enjoy every minute of it, no matter how disgusting the job may be.

I believe he has a lot of experience doing one of those 7 pm 'weekly magazine' type local TV shows in SF - tamed down famiy version of the impromptu interview concept. I vaguely remember seeing him doing that
I love how he always sneaks in the adolescent sexual humor, usually just with a look at the camera in the right situation. He does a great job with this show.
