Thanks, you beat me to it. This guy entertained and educated kids and it wasn't with a chest full of gold necklaces spouting off profanity. He did good.

I never watched his show regularly, and my daughter is certainly too young for it, but I did get a kick out of Steve Irwin personally. He was one of the last "alpha" male role models out there for kids. He seemed like such a hoot.

And wasn't there a commercial for ESPN where he tackled the UF Gator mascot, shouting, "CRIKEY! AIN'T HE A BEAUT!?"
