I did Atkins for some time.Atkins is a high protein, low just-about-everything-else diet.I was amazed how easily I was able to avoid various kinds of junk food as well as how easy it was to avoid late night snacking.
Also, while on Atkins,I *never* felt hungry and with the diet, combined with moderate exercise, the pounds (about 30 of them) just melted off of me.

Ok...here's my husband's (Atkins x 3 years) favorite recipe...
Low Carb Brownie
Sift together:
4 T ground flaxseed meal
1 T cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1 T bulk Splenda
1/4 tsp baking soda
Add:
1 egg
1 T Sugar-free vanilla Davinci Syrup (or water)
2 T melted Butter (or canola oil...if you're doing South Beach).
Mix together till well blended. Pour into a small dish sprayed with Pam. Nuke for about a minute and a half. Turn it out onto a plate and eat!
My husband loves these brownies! Sometimes I substitute one of the tablespoons of flaxseed meal with pecan meal, it makes it richer. This make about two servings. He spreads splenda-sweetened cream cheese on his. I think the whole thing only has about the same amount of carbs in a packet of sugar.
