So any reasonable position on Iraq will shred any credibility with their base. It's not like they can say, well Devil Bush isn't really so bad - and we must stand with him for the sake of the country. They created a monster and now they have to feed it no matter how stupid and traitorous it makes them look in the process.
If Bush were to go soft on Iraq, the Dems would immediately try to occupy the hawkish territory he abandoned for political advantage, but that ground is radioactive to them while he stands there. They are boxed in on a ludicrous stance, but they can't do anything else.
Me thinks Ms. Crowley is beginning to panic about the Dems' losing what political momentum they had during the summer.
After all, Katie-perk is having Rush on tonight.
They've got a plan. Take over the Congress. Take over the White House. Take over the judiciary. Give amnesty to the aliens. Increase taxes. End the War on Terror. Fund stem cell research. Ban guns. Empty the prisons. Give felons the right to vote.
Give themselves a raise.
No problemo, just continue to bash Christian/Conservatives, WallyWorld, "mega"-churches on your hit TV shows, podcasts, blogs, YouTube, MySpace, drivetime radio................
I'm sick of all this Dem bashing from the right-wing media. We have a plan!
1) We killed the Patriot Act.
2) We trashed the terrorist surveillance program.
3) We called for immediate withdraw from this noisy war.
4) We called to the same civil rights for the terrorist as any other American citizen.
5) We want all terrorist being detain by Bush anywhere in the world to be release now.
6) We want to talk with everybody about everything and give money to whoever cries.
7) Oh yeah we trashed the unconstitutional terrorist money tracking scheme.
She hit the nail on the head. I hope she still has a job after this.
This is why I'm just not convinced the Dems. will "Win it all" this Fall. You can't create something out of nothing, and the only thing Dems. have offered is purely negative, purely attack politics. No message means I believe voters will opt to stick with the "devil they know." Anyway, we shouldn't be complacent. Republicans need to get out the vote and get out to vote as if 20 points behind in every key race.

I remember during election 2000 when Judy Woodruff asked Candy Crowley a series of completely inane questions and it became quite clear that Woodruff had no idea how elections worked but there she was in the primo anchor-type chair and Crowley was stuck off in some campaign headquarters. Finally Crowley just started rolling her eyes as the questions got even dumber. If there were a thought bubble above Crowley's head it would be "Woodruff, you skinny blonde dumb@ss b#tch. How in hell does someone like you get that job." If CBS wanted to be a serious news organization again they would have gotten Crowley instead of a, you guessed it, skinny blond dumb@ss b#tch. Sadly, Crowley is on the large size with not so good hair. She has no future at an anchor desk.
I cannot help but alway think of Crowley, back in the early 90's jumping like a prairie dog under her desk when an earthquake hit the San Francisco area where she was working. The girl had 'cat-like' reflexes when the earth moved under her feet.
Candy, why have you waited until now to carp? The democrats haven't had an original idea in what, twenty years.
Come on out of the darkness to conservatism, where the ideas are plentiful, pro U.S. and supportable.

And when they think they have it's buried in some ambiguous speech that basically says nothing or it is simply a variation of the Bush policy, rephrased so that it'll appear to be new and different.
