I had to step away from this for a bit or it was gonna be thar she blows.
Frist was just on Cavuto...and said that HE was going to offer Bush's legislation...against the one by McCain, Warner, Graham and Collins...
Cavuto asked Frist is this wasn't just a big backhand by the GOP Senators to the POTUS....Frist said, "no, just a difference of opinion"...blech.
Considering that Bush personally went to the Congress and lobbied for his bill...and they STILL voted it down..will get the Chrissy Matthews and Timmah Russerts all EXCITED!!
The GOP Congress is actually turning their backs on Bush...so it must mean that Bush HAS been doing things illegaly...blah, blah, blah.
Not only are they taking tools out of the hands of our intelligence community....but, they have just basically emasculated the POTUS/CIC while we are at WAR..and during a very critical time..
First of all...all of this had gotten the Bushbot in me ALL riled up....and I am more afraid than ever that our country is going to hell...we can NOT count on our own party to keep us safe.
I may have to walk away permanently...at least where the politics is concerned.
I remember the other night, Bill O'Reilly had some old, wrinkly professor with long hair on his show.
They were discussing the movie that shows Bush being assassinated...and O'Reilly was contending that with the "hate America' frenzy around the world, and in the USA...and even worse, the BDS, hate BUSH rhetoric that is prevalent...isnt' it dangerous to show this..and give some wacko any ideas???
Well...that idiot professor said, "absolutely NOT, it would not do that"...
I gotta tell you, after the display I saw in the Senate..and reading about the GOP not backing Bush on EITHER of his intelligence bills...
I can totally understand someone getting angry enough to "go off"...
I am not saying I am...but, I am so angry right now..and I am NOT a wacko....there has to be a lot out there that would.
I feel...trapped. We can't count on the leadership in our own party. WHERE do we turn?

I wonder if any of them realize that WITHOUT the program it is quite likely the London plane plot may well have happened.
It flabbergasts me that they cannot envision what it would have been like if the plot had not been foiled. Think about 10 planes, loaded with innocent souls, blown out of the sky, maybe as many as 4,000 humans blown to bits, not to mention the loss of the assets to the airlines. Think there would be a crimp in the aviation industry. I just boggles the mind. Maybe someone should make a movie based on the plot having succeeded. Maybe that would bring it home.

BTW..if I worked for the CIA right now...I would be tempted to quit....why put my future in harms way, if the people I interrogate are going to get more benefits than my own family??

Yes, I saw that. Lindsey thinks he is the only JAG officer who knows anything and they must have been forced to take a contrary position. It would be possible to take a principled position in opposition to the president, but this is not what he's doing. He has to engage in pretzle logic and impugne the integrity of other JAG officers. What a low life this guy is.
