Something about a Spartan holding the line against attackers from Southwest Asia that I like here.

Hopefully it will turn out better for Prof. Wichman than it did for Leonidas.

All things considered it did not turn out so badly for King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans. Twenty-five hundred years later we still honor and praise them for their courage, loyalty, sense of duty and honor, convictions and for knowing that some things are worth fighting for and dying for.

These are lessons that many of our fellow citizens (dems) and Europeans allies have long forgotten.
