FOX & Friends
Chaffee win is a big White House win, says The Hill's Managing Editor Bob Cusack. ???? Go figure

Cardin looks like winner over Mfume in Maryland. I KNOW this is good news!!!

Republicans didn't want Graf to win in Arizona, but he did. Too conservative to win in Nov is the thinking.

Graf won! That's great. I'm just catching up and hadn't heard. Remember how Dr. Tom Coburn was not a pubbie establishment favorite either. Couldn't win and all that.

Worked late last night and woke up in time to hear Imus say that he had just been in the Ready Room to meet Hank Williams Jr., and that HW Jr. didn't know that Kinky Friedman was running for governor of Texas.

Then Imus talks to Mike Boettcher in Baghdad. Mike sounds beyond depressed. Thirty plus killed in bombings, fifty five men found executed throughout the city and two Marines killed in Anbar province. He says the "battle for Baghdad" is a civil war.

Well, at least Blind Mississippi White Boy Pig's Feet Dupre` is in the house.

To further blacken our mood, David Remnick says that Hillary! is ready to sweep back into the senate and then begin her run for the presidency. Says Bill is getting ready for her run. He wants to be president again.

David Remnick of the New Yorker has a crush on Bill Clinton.

Remnick is charming enough but I think Imus just likes to rub elbows and show how the New Yorker will get a bump in readership because of the interview.

----- Imus just came back and also use the word, "charming."

As for Remnick spending all that time with Bill Clinton, I still get the idea that Clinton, in a very subtle way, is trying to scuttle Hillary's chances. I wish I could explain it. Go Bill Clinton!!!!

I used to wonder if that wasn't the case also. But I have come to believe that he wants to be president again. Remember him in that airport hanger after Bush's inauguration...he couldn't bring himself to leave. He NEEDS it. My guess is the campaign to destroy anyone who is seen to stand in their way, i.e., other potential candidates from both parties, will soon begin in earnest.

Oh, he needs it (I almost need to define "it") alright and my notion may be one track, but it's just hard for me to see him standing one step to her rear. I just had to give myself that line. Actually, it's hard for me to imagine her rear this early in the morning.

I hope folks are watching this segment with HW Jr. I really don't know that much about him but it's the genius of Imus. He just knows how to do an interview and let the guest talk.

I want to hear Howard Fineman first but coming up at 0745:

Call-In
Future of Iraq
C-SPAN, Washington Journal
Washington, District of Columbia (United States)
ID: 194013 - 2 - 09/13/2006 - 0:45 - No Sale

Shays, Christopher U.S. Representative, R-CT

Rep. Shays talks about the hearings that he has been holding about whether Iraq is on a path toward democracy or civil war. Later in the day is the second of three days of hearings during the week on this topic.

The press is on to convince the American people that Iraq was never a good idea in the first place and it is certainly irretrievably lost and we must get out right now. They are going to go full bore.

Did you catch Fineman? The dems are fired up, the pubbies will stay home...mad about Bush, mad about immigration. The dems have a shot at 20 seats in the house. Bush and Rove will come out with their attack and fear machine 'cause it's what they do...winning is everything, divide and conquer. Howard really does not like Republicans. Imus was, I believe, taken somewhat aback, Fineman was so virulent.

Fineman furiously, deliberately, desperately, obviously, openly campaigning for Dems this morning.

And Imus still has on the screen Howard Fineman, Newsweek.

As if he is a objective journalist.

What a bunch of liars.

Means that Fineman is lieing; he sees the internal polls, he sees the realities in the primaries. Republicans are turning out more voters than democrats....and he doesn't like it.

IMUS
I'm astounded listening to Howard Fineman. His colors are out and flying! And so is his vitriol for Karl Rove!! Fineman must be really upset with the results of yesterday's primaries, so much that he can't restrain himself from predicting all the evil tactics Rove and Bush are getting ready to unleash on the country in order to keep democrats from winning in November. And Imus agrees.

With no doubt in his voice, Fineman predicts the far right, Bush base voters will stay home in November to show their disgust with Bush/Iraq. He says Democrat voters will turn out in large numbers. He seems to think Dems will win the House, but less sure of the Senate.

I sense Americans are making up their minds just about the way Fineman describes.

At this point I almost hope the dems do take the House. It will force them to show results and, when they fail, it will help get a Republican back in the White House in 08. Hillary is probably hoping the opposite for the House.
