You haven't, huh?

So Murkowski almost losing to a Clintonite in Alaska wasn't the result of an inept representative, only there because her daddy put her in the seat, barely scraping into office because of the President's coattails? Sounds like a candidacy in the running for most inept and selfish to me. Yet the GOP went out of its way to get behind her.

Of course she is more liberal in natural disposition and was the daughter of a sitting Governor. Not like Harris at all, who actually refrained from running in '04 for the sake of the party. Allowing another inept candidate endorsed by the W.H. to be put up, and he barely won.

If anyone is selfish and ungrateful here, it's the national GOP.

Alaska isn't a legitimate comparison because the dynamics are completely different. Lisa Murkowski's win was impressive given the dynamics, and she was also the incumbent (and incumbent Senators are VERY hard to defeat). KH ain't the incumbent.

As for Martinez being "inept", he still won. Bill McCollum would've gone down in a repeat, and KH would've just had the same self-destructive abortion of a candidacy 2 years earlier. Or would you have preferred 2 rodent Senators today from FL instead of one ?
