Like losing a winnable Senate election ? I'd at least have the common courtesy and horse-sense to step aside for a viable candidate. Would you ?

But why didn't someone like Mark Foley jump in? What, did Katherine threaten them with cooties? They could have nipped this in the bud easily if they just RAN.

Besides, I doubt John Spencer or Dick Mountjoy or whoever is running in NM is polling better than Harris.

On the other hand nobody stepped with stature to challenge. That I think is a bigger issue for FL GOP.

I'm going to stick to "I Told You So, Nutcases!" every time a new fabricated poll by the lying liberal media comes out.

What good will that do? It won't increase turnout for the GOP nominee, but it could depress GOP turnout. After the primary there are only 2 options: Work towards getting the GOP candidate elected, or work towards getting the Dem candidate elected. Sitting out/depressing turnout only does the latter. Why be counterproductive just to get some emotional satisfaction/venting? Isn't that what we've been accusing the Harris supporters of doing? The vote is over, what is done is done, so how about getting out all the frustration out tonight and then being productive from here on out. Who knows, Nelson could say or do something stupid and make it a race. Bottom line, replacing Nelson benefits conservatism, leaving him in harms conservatism (greatly, if the Dems take control of the Senate) and now the options in this race for advancing conservatism have shrunk to only one: supporting the GOP candidate.

Gallagher is currently doing his concession speech...throwing his support behind Crist.

yet the contest with any other viable Republican would make it competitive

If the term 'viable' includes the requirement to have enough courage to actually run for office, it appears that there are NO other viable Republicans in Florida.

Meanwhile at Nelson HQ, cheers break out at their outrageous good fortune. Guess we'll have to try again in 2012. What a shame.

I hear ya. Say, Bush today appointed Mary Peters to replace Norm Mineta as Transportation Secretary. She is from Arizona, do you know anything about her?

You are right. Foley could have easily stepped in to run against Harris. There a actually a lot of people in the GOP. Nelson was a very weak candidate. The question is not why Harris, but why no one else.

Sorry - no. But I doubt she could do any worse than Norm.

it could depress GOP turnout

Yeah, I highly doubt it.

That "courage" will get us 30% in the general. Still think it's worth it ?

We wanted Her, Us folks in Florida, and they will want her washington once again representing us. We will get out the vote and she will beat Nelson!

To win by a big margin shows the republican base is not fooled by MSM, and Demorat stories planted to stop her,
from winning.

I don't know much about her, but I know of two Arizona Freepers who probably do.

Jim Davis spends less time on the job that John Kerry. That of course is told in a Political ad running in the Tampa Bay Area. That was great news to me.
