Agassi still has game, but his body just can't take the beating anymore... The joys of getting old...

Nice to see that a few classy sports heroes remain.

My thoughts exactly! I have deep respect for Agassi, which is something I can't say for most sports stars!

A class act, as is his wife Steffi.

He was always fun to watch, with his clothes and diminishing hairline.

He DEFINED the term "return of serve."

He was also the MOST dangerous when he was down a set in the 2/3 tournaments and when he was down two sets in a Grand Slam tournament.

I was delighted when he married German Steffi Graf -- two really super players and super nice people. Their kids GOTTA be great people with parents like that.

It was ironic that a German player was his last match....and a "B. Becker," no less. :o)

ironic that Connors, also one of the great returners of serve came back there yesterday coaching Roddick

"...133-mph serve..."

Mine's been clocked at 112mph; Becker's must be on fire when it crosses the net! Yeowch!

I'm not a huge tennis fan. No bias, just little interest.

Exepting for Agassi.

I loved watching tennis when he was on, and I'm going to miss him greatly now.

Very classy of the people in N.Y. to give him the due he earned.

I saw the whole thing yesterday as phony. Contrast the Agassi exit with the Jack Nicklaus exit last year at St. Andrews.

Sorry, but I don't get the irony there.
Connors started coaching Roddick slightly before the tournament.
Also, Roddick's game needs a better return of serve -- mostly COMING IN several steps at a second serve. He stays way too far back. At least, that's what the talking heads said.
Agassi became such a great returner of service because he had to deal with one of the best servers: Pete Sampras. He also had to deal with Goren Ivanivanic (lol. sp??), also a fabulous server.

hadn't it been a while since Connors had stepped foot in Flushing Meadows?

Agassi also demonstrates that you don't have to moan and grunt on every stroke like some metrosexual kicked in the gonads.

I love to watch tennis, but I have to mute the sound.

I loved watching Andre play, I grew up with him and will miss him terribly. He achieved so much on the court, but what he did off the court is where so many of today's athletic stars and "role models" could learn some powerful lessons.

Good luck Andre, professional tennis may be over, but you still have much to do!! Tears for the end and prayers for your future.

Is that before or after the alarm clock rang? LOL!! Man, that's a fast serve!! I dated a guy for a long time that went to the Nick Bolletari Academy for highschool. We played a lot, but I don't think his serve was that fast. Your serve must really whiz (I love that sound) past a lot of people!!
