I would love to see the Roman remains in Asia Minor, some of which are supposed to be spectacular, but I cannot imagine actually GOING to syria or jordan (or egypt for that matter) in the present enviroment.
I wonder if this is Jorash? We went there in 1999. I cannot imagine being in the Middle East these days. And frankly, the Roman ruins in safe places are equally amazing.
