I ditto that. However, that same press that refuses to show people jumping from the World Trade Towers will be like sharks in a feeding frenzy. I am afraid this Lefty press will try to cast this brave heart, Steve Irwin, as something akin to fool hearty. Any video that works for that effort will be used. And that would heap tragedy upon tragedy.

We are very sad. We loved his shows.

One thing that can be definitely said about the Crocodile Hunter - he had showmanship and was a good animal scientist/zoologist/herpotologist - whatever it was.

I had often thought that someday something bad would happen to him, although I hoped it wouldn't, and didn't think it would be deadly.

I guess he died doing what he loved, but just too young.

RIP, Crocodile Hunter.

from imdb.com:

He tells his camera crew to always be filming. If he needs help, he will ask for it. Even if he is eaten by a shark or croc, the main thing he wants is that it be filmed. If he died, he would be sad if no one got it on tape.

How haunting those words are now.

Sure, why not. I'll never be able to go again, but I can dream! I was a neophyte; had just less than 100 dives, 95+.

It is very sad. I didn't know about this, until I saw the very newest thread on it, then noticed this on the sidebar.

RIP, Mate. Crikey!

I hate to say, but who didn't think this would happen some day? Very sad. My kids love his shows.

Unfortunately, quite true. Another one who's obit I think we'll be seeing sooner rather than later is Jeff Corwin...anyone else see that show where he climbed up into that tree in Africa to yank down a black mamba??

Wanted to add a note to all those who play in the water near jellyfish, Man-O-Wars and such whatnot.

Adolph's meat tenderizer is mainly papain, the active ingredient in papayas. So, if you don't have Adolph's, you can get a papaya, cut it open, scoop out the orange flesh and pat that all over any stings you have.

Kind of mash it a little and make a poultice. Whatever's left over, you can use to marinate tough cuts of beef into delectable shish kabob cubes! Mmmmhum.
