Pensacola still shows the scars of Ivan, two years ago. Still a good number of blue roofs (assuming Dennis didn't tear off the tarps).
This depression is minor compared to the depression in the liberal MSM over the lackluster hurricane season they have been reporting on. Maybe this will cheer them up a little.

We are in Port Saint Lucie as well. I am really gonna miss Jeb Bush. He is a great man and governor. I met him at one of the Governor's Hurricane Conferences. There is nothing phony about him. He is a man who truly cares about people. His faith is strong and I believe it shapes both his personal and public life.
As for Hurricanes. I've had quite enough and look forward to a Volcanoe. At least that is covered under my insurance.
And don't forget the suicidal polar bears. No telling when they might use a suicide belt while they do the deed...
I'm not sure. High pressure=high maintenance. Better to give it a 12-pack and some smokes and send it on its way.
Maybe we can get one of the "Evil" Phamaceuticals Corps to make us a giant Prozac?
I predict this one will reach category 3, and make it into the gulf of mexico.

No excuse for blue roofs unless you didn't have insurance. Still it is not the responsibility of govt to get you a new roof.
Nor is it the responsibility of govt for your life from cradle to grave.
Here in P.S.L. on my street 8 of 12 homes lost their roofs and most everything in their places. They have been repaired and took another hit and fared very well.
Fact is the hurricanes took out buildings underbuilt and now most have been upgraded and fared very much better during the last one.
Still they are no fun.

Right now it looks as if it'll pass north of Hispaniola, which is potentially bad news regarding intensity.

Mu unit spent two weeks at P-Beach patrolling day and night, assisting the Sheriff's office. We were received very well by everyone. Since I live there it was all the more important to me, these people were my neighbors.
The media is desperate for a real storm to cover. On the other hand, if we had a major storm they might stop talking about Katrina for five minutes.
