Yesterday's NYT has an article obviously stenotyping the Armitage talking points. It says he told Powell. He wrote a resignation letter which Powell had him tear up because he thought it would reveal he was the source. Then Powell had Ford, the State Dept general counsel tell Gonzales they were turning over some info to the prosecutor but without telling him what it was and under circumstances where Gonzales couldn't ask.
