Agree...

I was up to 209lbs, (im down to 189 now, lost 20 pounds through nutrition control, running, and working out).

Its really the simpler things that will really help you out. Eg: Dont drink that coke with your food, dont get the side of fries, dont eat desert.

And if one just consiously listens to when the body feels sated, one eats much less.

I dont necessarily reccomend running to overweight people though. Its quite rough on the knees, especially if youre overweight.

Try swimming, or cross trainer machines, or cycling! Theyll all get your weight down.

Incidentally, my dad has diabetes, and the doc assures him, that if he would only lose 20 pounds, it may even go away!

Must be a parallel universe. I'm doing the same thing. I went from 210 down to 180 and am still dropping. I avoid all sugared soft drinks. Those made with splenda that are fairly satisfying. In fact, splenda works great on a high fiber cereal. One should always start the day with something to eat. This fires up the metabolism so that the activity you do burns calories at a higher rate. A healthy metabolism also needs plenty of sleep--something I neglect with the late nights I spend on the Free Republic.
