Wombat worked hard and was on quite a roll until his last two paragraphs. Then there was the sudden disconnect from the previous cool smooth commmentary as he turned to personal invective against conservatives.

You really have to wonder why Wombat is on a conservative site.

This is not a Republican site. It's conservative. Always has been. Conservative. For better or worse. Warts and all. Conservative.

I try to maintain a big-tent attitude toward people forced to live in Blue states but this kind of vitriol toward the party's base and toward the vast, vast majority of FR's own members sounds more than a little bitter to me.
