If Democrats win one or both houses of Congress in November's elections, as polls suggest is increasingly likely, President Bush's Washington will change dramatically.
Democrats will press to get out of Iraq. They'll mount investigations into the Bush administration's record that could rival those of Presidents Nixon in Watergate and Clinton in the Monica Lewinsky affair. They'll push a boatload of social-welfare legislation, such as raising the minimum wage, that reflects their pent-up priorities, while blocking the Republican agenda on social issues such as gay marriage, abortion and religion.
Those are some of the top plans that Democrats would pursue if they won power, according to interviews with Democratic lawmakers, strategists, staff aides and lobbyists. The tone and temper of the Democrats were reflected well by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the ranking Democrat on the House Government Reform Committee, in a conference call in late August. He'll become the panel's chairman if Democrats take the House.

That is 'how naive can you get'. Opps.
It's already becoming a socialist state. The only thing we're fighting over now is how religious it will be.
If the RATs ever regain power in this country again, they will effectively eliminate all possible threats to the UN, the EU, the OIS, and the ICC.
Oh, I don't know. We're a far sight from Europe - and that's what they want.
"If the GOP loses in November it will have no one to blame but itself. The party abandoned the principles laid out in the "Contract with America" long ago."

I couldn't agree with you more. It may be too late, but we need unwavering, no-excuses, no-compromise leadership to push the right agenda. I'm getting to dislike even using the word "conservative". That term implies something away from the center. The "center" should simply be what is correct - lower taxes, little government, controlled immigration, no-apologies foreign policy, no-nonsense social policy, etc.
People respond to LEADERSHIP and RESULTS. Leadership will implement correct policy. Properly executed policy will produce results.
Compromised policy produces compromised results.
And they will have the Patriot Act along with the NAS wiretaps to do so.
If they spend all their time trying to impeach President Bush, Congress will never get anything done. Oh. Wait.
Not only the American military will pay the price, but a lot of decent people at home as well.
I am so looking forward to the meltdown they will have when they don't. As I recall, Charles Rangel promised us all that he would resign if the Dems didn't take control of the House. But then he is a Dem, so we all know his word doesn't mean a thing.
Sort of like Europe's Christian Democrats vs the Democratic Socialists?
No sir, I don't want any of us to deal with these nitwits for two years or two days. They had 40 yrs. (My life so far) to totally f#@k up this country. I don't want these people in power again ever.
1. Regaining the Senate.
2. Regaining the House.
You are totally naive if your think anyone will be laughing as the democrats run this nation into the septic tank they envision for us. The Islamofascists will be having a hayday and the nation will be so divided that a response will be impossible, gas will hit $4 per gal, and the economy will go on democrat federal life support, to make it impossible for the voters to vote them out and risk losing the 'entitlements'. If that appears to be something funny to you, you need to stay indoors on election day, sit down and shut up. Or better still, go lick Neal Boortz's toes while he laughs like the libertarian idiot he is.
Great cartoon!
Ooooooo....that was certainly a slap in the face to our broken glass republican friends.
Perfect opportunity to throw the filibuster right back into their faces.
And just think of the big tax increases that will be necessary because of Bush's war time spending and his big tax cuts for the rich.
If the republicans lose in nov. we deserve it. The republicans do not have their identity set as leaders. They act like they are the red headed step child of the family. Cowering at every chance and apologetic when they have power.
That should motivate the republican (?) politicians that are acting like spoiled socialists in the house and senate.
If they do not do something now - the fault is 100% theirs.
