EVER WONDER what it's like to be a pariah?
Publish something sharply critical of Israeli government policies and you'll find out. ..
This, at least, is what happened to Ken Roth. Roth whose father fled Nazi Germany is executive director of Human Rights Watch, America's largest and most respected human rights organization. ...In July, after the Israeli offensive in Lebanon began, Human Rights Watch did the same thing it has done in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Bosnia, East Timor, Sierra Leone, Congo, Uganda and countless other conflict zones around the globe: It sent researchers to monitor the conflict and report on any abuses committed by either side.
It found plenty. On July 18, Human Rights Watch condemned Hezbollah rocket strikes on civilian areas within Israel, ...
Human Rights Watch also criticized Israel for indiscriminate attacks on civilians. Roth noted that the Israeli military appeared to be "treating southern Lebanon as a free-fire zone," and he observed that the failure to take appropriate measures to distinguish between civilians and combatants constitutes a war crime.
The backlash was prompt. ...
In the United States today, it just isn't possible to have a civil debate about Israel, because any serious criticism of its policies is instantly countered with charges of anti-Semitism. ...
How did adopting a reflexively pro-Israel stance come to be a mandatory aspect of American Jewish identity? Skepticism a willingness to ask tough questions, a refusal to embrace dogma has always been central to the Jewish intellectual tradition. Ironically, this tradition remains alive in Israel, where respected public figures routinely criticize the government in far harsher terms than those used by Human Rights Watch.

You forget the barf alert.
More LAslimes bs....
I heard plenty of criticism against Olmert and Israel for being too soft on the hezbollah.
No one called those individuals anti-semite!
(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo! )
Ken Roth is vicious left-wing scum who works on behalf of the worst terrorists on earth. It doesn't matter who his father was or that his group purports to be concerned with "human rights" - he is an eager propagandist for the terrorists, period.
What if they are one in the same? What if the enemy's support infrastructure is civilian? Writer = idiot.

You asked for it, you got it: those who call themselves
"Critic of Israeli policy toward Islamic activism"
"Proponent of Palestinian statehood"
"Opponent of U.S. support of Israel"
"Moderate Muslim"
Equals: Camouflaged Worthless Jew-hating Nazi-loving Islamic B@stard.
Now flame away, Achmed.

When Human Rights Watch condemns Israel, is's just more of the same stuff George has been peddling most of his life, and it's really not news ~ kind of like it's expected.
what's that smell in the air?? Smells like some good old fashion Jew hating? Well, other than those atheist 'jews' in hollywood and Manhattan who are non-offensive since they don't actually attend temples, read the Bible or Torah or care whether Israel (or the US) are destroyed culturally or literally. Sounds like this woman needs to go to sensitivity training.
This is sick stuff which you agree with. Israel is five million Jews in an ocean of hundreds of millions of Arabs. Israel left Gaza and Lebanon and the response was to make war on her. Israel gets threatened by Iran each week with nuclear destruction and you post this drivel
Israel hardly gets it's way in this world. Maybe you haven't noticed how anti Israel the UN is. Anti US too
"Human Rights Watch is nonpartisan it doesn't "take sides" in conflicts"
Now that's funny.
>whose father fled Nazi Germany <
too bad

L.A. Slimes? Isn't "Hates Joos" a prerequisite for employment there?
Bullshit. HRW is a hard-core Stalinist group dedicated to harming the US and everyone knows it. Sorry, poopie.
-Did Hizballah fire little rockets containing warning leaflets all over Northern Israel warning citizens to leave a war zone, or did they just blindly kill civilians?
-Did Hizballah purposely fire rockets from civilian areas then leave, knowing the Israeli reprisal would kill Lebanese civilians?
Did Hizballah even bring in women and children to certain buildings and allow them to die so they could orchestrate anti-Israel reaction?
Did Lebanon ever lift a finger to stop any of the above?
