NSA leak investigating continuing

When we last tuned in on July 25th, Russell Tice - a disgruntled ex-NSA staffer was subpoenaed to appear before the GJ, but balked when he found out just how rigorous the DOJ is perusing the leakers.

So what has been going on in the meantime? According to sources the initial focus of the GJ is towards the media involvement, with special emphasis on who in our Government, specifically within the IC, or (as many believe via their sources) from the Senate Intelligence Committee via a staffer, is leaking classified information.

To get a successful conviction and not just a flimsy joke of an indictment like Fitzgerald did against Libby, the DOJ is being very meticulous and careful in theiir evidence collection. There are big donks in the sights of the DOJ for the leaks, like Rockefeller. You want to have a superb case when you indict or charge someone as powerful as Rockefeller.

I'd be surprised if someone at Rockefeller's level gets indicted. Are there not "staffers" who possess the same clearances and get the same briefings? I'd expect at best a flunky to take the hit but then I'm pretty cynical.

I'm pretty cynical, too, and you're probably right. Still, it's a target rich environment and I'm hopeful. I would think Fitz is motivated to make up for the Plame/Wilson mess. He wasted a lot of tax payer money and attention span.

I'm even more cynical than you. Democrats are above the law. Period.

Macranger has reported in the past that donk staffers have already FAILED polygraphs. Pretty easy to backtrack from there.

The DOJ has not and will not let FITZ within 10 miles of the NSA leak investigations. They have real loyal professional prosecutors working on them.

Lewis Libby gets indicted for not leaking something of no importance and the leaker of these national secrets continues on as before.

"As long as the real perps get the shaft."

Not gonna happen. This will slip under the woodwork just as have all other dem law violations. The FBI files continue to keep us from getting the dems. Daddy Bush is still alive and can be indicted RE: Mena!

Wouldn't you love to be a witness in these special court rooms as these hearings close in on the leakers.
