Right you are. We here in FL have concealed carry and despite all the hysteria before it became law there has been a decrease in violent crime and absolutely no reckless or abusive behaviour on the part of licensees.
I don't have concealed carry myself but I do possess a firearm and can tell you a true personal experience about gun control and its real-life consequences.
Agreed that concealed-carry has done wonders with lowering crime rates in various states. The purp in this case would not have been able to kill the Samaritans had they had a weapon in hand. I hope your own experience was not too traumatic.
get the permit (if possible) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! having it will go a long way for you in court if you happen to be involved in a shooting of any kind.
Get your CCW.
We here in Florida have an unwritten rule: You guard me; I guard you.
My .357 is in the glove box not just to protect me, but to protect the guy in front of me.
As a former Vermonter, that is one (of the few) good things about that State.
NO law against carrying concealed. Don't even need a permit or license.
Of course, I'm surprised that with the political climate there (one of the top 10 most liberal States in the Country, IMHO) that this law has survived as long as it has.
