WASHINGTON (AFP) - Attempts by the administration of US President Gearge W. Bush to justify the continuing war in Iraq by comparing it to the 20th century war against Nazism as November elections draw near could actually benefit divided Democrats, experts said.

"The battle for Iraq is now central to the ideological struggle of the 21st century. We will not allow the terrorists to dictate the future of this century, so we will defeat them in Iraq," Bush told the American Legion veterans group Wednesday in Salt Lake City, Utah

Other 'todbits' ... "Rumsfeld is the last person who should preach the lessons of history after ignoring them for the last six years," said Senator Edward Kennedy.

"He's been consistently wrong since he rushed to war with a country that had nothing to do with the real threat to America: the global war on terror," Kennedy said.

Folks, no matter how much we're unhappy with the Republicans, we don't want these Democrat idiots to be in charge.

"If Mr. Rumsfeld is so concerned with comparisons to World War Two, he should explain why our troops have now been fighting in Iraq longer than it took our forces to defeat the Nazis in Europe," said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

More deep analysis ... Pelosi forgets that Germany was completely destroyed!! Collateral damage the likes of no other ... then Hiroshima, and Nagasaki??? Iraq we are fighting as humanely as possible?!! What does she really imply here??

Attempts by the administration of US President Gearge W. Bush to justify the continuing war in Iraq by comparing it to the 20th century war against Nazism

A) The president wasn't just comparing Iraq to a fight with fascism, but the entire war on terror. So that's Big Lie #1. B) That security and the war on terror are a central focus of the campaign will NEVER in a gazillion years help the Democratic party. That is territory they can never seize and stake out C) Why does the Clown Car Media (CCM) act as a cheerleading section for the Party of Satan?

This is why I think the midterms will be a status quo election, not the blow out for the Dems. the Clown Car Media (CCM) hopes and dreams it will be. That is because the CCM constantly spins EVERYTHING as being favorable for the Dems, including this incredibly laughable piece which going against all political logic, reason, sense and conventional wisdom claims that the focus of the campaign being on the war HELPS Democrats.

Incredible that there is no mention of the 16 unenforced UN resolutions that were passed mostly on Clinton's watch and no matter that 2 weeks ago 100 Al-Qaeda was killed in Iraq.

Yep.. the "experts" in the title...

Then read the story, and when it gets to the "experts" it says:

That charge prompted bitter responses from the opposition Democrats, many of whom have been calling for the government to pull US troops out of Iraq.

Then gives 2 quotes by Kennedy, and 1 by Poloci.

Then details the DNC official "rebuttal"

And finally quotes some "Eric Davis", some random professor at Middlebury College in Vermont.

So pathetically, transparently, and liberally typical....

If the AP prints that the dems aren't concerned with something the Repuclicans are doing or saying, you can bet that the dems are concerned as all hell. If the Republicans hope to have a chance in this election, they have to go on the attack everyday and make the dems spout their nonsense. Afterall, the guilty speak.

Me thinks they do protest too much!

It has been actually amusing to hear the Democrat spin on the two speeches. First of all, Rumsfeld never mentioned Bush critics in his speech. The only legislator that he mentioned was a long dead Republican, that had opined that if only he had been able to to speak with Hitler, he was sure that he could have reasoned with him and prevented the whole war.

Rush mentioned that Russert and Lauer were claiming that they couldn't find a single Democrat that voted to defund the war in Iraq. So that means that they voted for it before they voted against it, but never voted to defund it, at least not yet.

Pelosi and Reid both went on air claiming that Rumsfeld compared the Bush critics to the pre-WWII pacifists, which he never really did. He just stated that those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.

We need a photo shop picture with Reid and Pelosi as those Scream masks. Does anyone know how to do that?

she also dismisses the fact that Republicans in the 40's, unlike the rats of today, put partisan politics on the backburner placing country before party...

Of course we're still in Germany, and Japan, and South Korea. Pelosi's an idiot. That will win your party a lot of votes, shrew, attacking the military. "You're not winning fast enough, wa, wa, wa."

This article tells us the Democrats are scared to death that the Iraq war will be front and center for the elections. That's why they're offering "helpful" advice for the President to back off from it.

Let's all hope Teddy Kennedy is the Democrat's face for "nationalizing" the 2006 elections. He's a walking lampoon in need of a harpoon.

I concur. Dems don't know what to do with it. So, they are attempting to wrap their flower-children arms around it; figuring that maybe if they cover it in BS, no one will notice it glowing.
