Now, for your specific question, you are putting on muscle. Muscle is more dense than fat, thus if you put on 5 lbs of muscle, it won't show up too much, but you will feel much better.
That is why weight loss programs that emphasize weight lifting encourage you to pay attention to how your clothes fit instead of what the scale says.
My wife was guilty of that. She would complain that she wasn't "loosing" weight, but I had to point out that her clothes were fitting better, so it must be working.
