A bullet to the brain, absolutely. A knife to the throat? I'd like to think that I would hold firm (maybe sing a little "Battle Hymn of the Republic") but it's hard to say.

I think a true conversion only happens in your heart, and cannot be forced. If I was reasonably sure it would save my live I would go through the whole shpeil if necessary, knowing that it was empty words that meant nothing real to me, and I could renounce it immediately afterwards.
I can't fault them for what they did, pretending to convert to a mockery of a "religion".. these guys probably have families..
