Your request to investigate whether we can change nature reminds me of Rush's opinion that those who think man can cause global warming is the height of conceit.

I think what I have to do is to recognize what the nature of the beast is, then try to use that information to my advantage.

Sound advice, I think. Personally, I feel like when I date someone, that I will try to go in for as slow a paced relationship as possible. The longer I can get to know her, the more likely it is if she's one of the bad ones I'll find out before "I do".
