I have shopped for a wood burner stove. They are more expensive than they could be. So I am in the process of building my own. But I have lots of scrap iron and a welding machine. What do you mean "store logs on outdoors"? You just shake the snow off and bring a batch at a time inside and let it dry or cove with a tarp.

Where I live, we are TOO civilized! We have to put the wood in a keeper which is several inches above ground so that rats can't move in and hide. Drat!
