"I'm Mad, in a job" is a wet rat looking for a hunk of moldy cheese. This rat needs his neck broke. World sanctions and resolutions are not going to do it. The iranian youth need to rise up and tie him to a pipeline "pig" and send him to a bad part of turkey with a pair of underoos cinched around his head, and scream "wedgie, wedgie".

He should arrange to speak with Prodi, Zapatero and Chirac, instead. They'll agree with him.

Maybe Mahmoud should debate Jimmy Carter. Now that would be a love fest that would bring down the house.

The only debate should be which weapon to use to put a hole in AhmaNutJob's head.

I believe the trump card resides in a hand that Ahmadinejad does not hold.

"Iran may want to look first to allowing free expression and open debate within its borders, as opposed to the current practice of crushing dissent."

My guess is that some type of negotiations is going on with Iran. A litmus test if that is correct will be indicated by the statements Bolton will have today evening or tomorrow.
The final day for the answer from Tehran regarding the nuclear issue is formally today. As the WH is anticipating a positive final answer from Tehran 1 second before the implementation of the sanctions to be discussed at the Security Council next week they have allowed Khatami to visit, i.e. to have a back channel in case that nothing happens.
We should not forget that the economic situation in Iran resembles the situation in the former Soviet Union prior to Gorbachev.

My guess too.
"the implementation of the sanctions to be discussed at the Security Council next week they have allowed Khatami to visit.."
Sanctions would be important even politically, but they aren't and won't be. What sanctions btw?
"We should not forget that the economic situation in Iran resembles the situation in the former Soviet Union prior to Gorbachev."
It does, doesn't it? Not as meaningful and Soviet Union isn't comparable to Iran and Gorbachev isn't Khatami.
But hope you are right.

I will reveal a secret: I have, since 1979, guessed that "the Iranian theocrazy will fall next year". One of the coming years I will be right. ;-)
