I don't see how most suicide bombers can be stopped.

Actually, tho -- if this is the worst the war gets, we're getting off so easy it's a joke.

We lost 6000 dead, 20000 wounded in one month's fighting on Iwo Jima.

This attack is only a PR win. Militarily, suicide is useless. The japanese were the ones who pioneered the suicide run. Kamikazis.

And that strategy turned out to be a failure, for strategic reasons.

And it will again. They'll never win a battle, or take a country, with suicide bombers.

Yes that's true.

True, but that is not the purpose of the bombers. The bombers are a PR stunt meant to be cited by the western left and MSM as evidence of the futility of the war on terror. Without this tactic what would Iraq look like today? Without the left's successful undercutting of American resolve would the Iranians dare to continue so brazenly their nuclear plans. As the article notes Iran is surrounded by massive amounts of American power. Due to these internal political limitations GWB will never commit these forces against Iran until it is too late (as might already be the case).

Suicide bombers distract us, propaganda both Islamic and MSM cow us while the Iranians continue their work. Unfortunately time is not on our side. Suicide bombers don't win battles but in this case will significantly play a part in the nuclear deaths of potentially millions of westernerns.
