The voters in Florida, and only the voters in Florida, will decide this election.
"The voters in Florida, and only the voters in Florida, will decide this election."
That's absolutely true. The rest of us are just interested spectators. Both the Governorship of Florida and the U.S. Senate seat that is up for a vote, however, are very important to everyone in the United States.
That is the reason for the interest in these elections, and it's a valid reason.
For example, the Katherine Harris candidacy for the U.S. Senate seems doomed to fail. It would be a miracle if she won. Yet, there are those posting here who call her primary rivals the worst sorts of names, despite their being Republicans. What's up with that. It's almost seems as if they cannot have their particular favorite elected, they'd rather see a Democrat win.
The same may well be true in the Governor's race. By poisoning people's minds against the current leader for the GOP primary, these same people may well convince voters to either stay away from the election or vote for the Democrat. Calling the likely winner of the GOP primary a murderer just doesn't seem to me to be a good strategy.
That's where my interest lies in these Florida races. Some posters seem determined to malign the very GOP candidates who may win the primaries. Very bad politics, indeed.
