except at the DU they're convinced it's a bush/rove plot to ensure Rep re-election..so, it IS bush's fault..(in their eyes)..

Here it fell to $2.38 this morning.

I have a friend that lost his hyde playing the futures market. I wouldn't bet on $2:00 a gallon by Thanksgiving. That being said the rule on any products price is supply and demand. With the new hybrid cars, and hydrogen cars, and electric cars the demand will slowly decrease even though this will take years. If things become stable in Iraq, and they open up more of the northern Russian oil lines the supply will be there. There are a lot of factors to be taken, but by 2020 I doubt that the United States will have a gun held to its head anymore in regards to oil. There is always solar, nuclear, hydro, coal, ethanol, ect. We just have to learn to take advantage of all that is out there. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" as they say.

What happened to $4.00 by labor day? Convenient US Government Pre-Election Probe.
U.S. probes BP over crude, gas dealings
Whether markets were manipulated at heart of latest inquiries:
Now, the Journal reports, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission has sent subpoenas to BP and energy traders in the crude-oil probe, which is focused on possible manipulation of the global over-the-counter market in 2003 and 2004.
OUCH!!!

Yeah ... well when is diesel prices going to go down!?!?
Oh yeah, thats right, the new Ultra Low Sulpher Diesel (ULSD) aka the EPA diesel, is coming out this September and will cost more to create and will get less mpg being it is less efficient.
Lets see the diesel prices come down please.

I think I read where someone showed a link between Bush's falling favorability ratings and rising gas prices. If this is true, I would suspect that W's favorables could jack up to the 50% area by October. Any chance of a Dem takeover is evaporating...
To: MaDuce
I'm with you in wishin'. A +$0.50 differential to gas IS unacceptable. My tactical diesel reserve (last topped up in early July) is good for only another month.
