On the last segment, Brian Williams was, I think, a bit obnoxious in asking GWB about what he was reading, and being somewhat critical on his choices (as if he wasn't smart enough to read Camus or Shakespeare). I loved how GWB responded! He is so smart, and also such a gentleman.
When Williams asked him something about how people misunderstand him--they got into a short discussion about what is reported. Williams asks if he watches much t.v.(meaning the news) and GWB responds that he enjoys a good baseball game! Love it!
I'm here!
Haven't dropped from the face of the earth yet :o)
Just having some computer problems.
Hope to get on the DOSE tonight.
How have you been doing?
Thanks Snugs, Got it! :o)
That reporter is lucky she wasn't standing right there. She might have given him a bigger piece of her mind than he could handle.
I agree with you completely on the book thing too. When President Bush mentioned he had read a book, I think it was about Washington, the reporter acted all incredulous and made some stupid comment along the lines of wasn't last week some other topic, as if a graduate of both Yale and (more importantly) Harvard (even if it was the business school) couldn't possibly have read multiple books or be interested in more than one subject. He's lucky our prez is such a gentleman. Not once have I heard him mention his degrees to highlight his intellectual superiority. There aren't many extraordinary men who are willing to interact with ordinary people on their level.
And yes, the ballgame comment was beautiful.
Howdy-Doody!
Looking foward to the report :o)
Another comment I meant to make on the interview...GWB is a very physical person. We have noticed that in the jillions of pictures we have seen of him--he clearly is very comfortable hugging people. I noticed on this interview with Brian Williams how little personal space he required. Even Brian's ridiculous questions didn't make him step back--GWB stood very close and leaned in (though in none of the parts I watched did he grab Williams' arm which is such a common gesture of his). That was just an observation I had while watching the interview.
There aren't many extraordinary men who are willing to interact with ordinary people on their level.
This is a fabulous comment. Interacting with ordinary people on their level is something at which our extraordinary president excels.
Only watched 90 seconds or so of the part about President Bush and his father...Brian Williams was rude with how he phrased his questions, quite a sc*mbag I must say.
