Interesting....how did the Mexicans know to magically start showing up? Word of mouth, most likely. The numbers of Mexicans around my hometown started out being pretty small, and gradually built up over the course of several years.

Harvest schedules are pretty consitent. Migrants learn by word of mouth who is good to work for and who is not.
It hasn't changed for years...although like others have said, the people willing/able to do it have.
