Citizens United Productions Unveils New Immigration Movie as Congress Reconsiders Immigration Reform Legislation
Washington, D.C. Citizens United Productions is bringing the controversial documentary Border War: The Battle Over Illegal Immigration to theaters across the nation later this summer. Citizens United Productions previously produced Celsius 41.11 to counter Michael Moores propagandist Fahrenheit 9/11.
Border War, which was produced by Citizens United president David N. Bossie, documents the lives of five individuals affected by the war taking place at the U.S.Mexico border. Border War presents the intersecting real life stories of five people directly impacted by the continued conflict on Americas southern frontier. The compelling stories and incredible visuals of Border War, which was shot in high-definition, will leave viewers demanding answers.
We wanted to explore the most explosive domestic issue of our time by allowing those on the front lines of immigration policy to speak. We thought it was important to hear directly from undocumented workers, a high-profile member of Congress, the victims of border violence, open border advocates, Hispanic-American Minutemen, and U.S. Border Patrol agents. All of these voices combined make a true and compelling story, said Mr. Bossie. The Border War trailer can be viewed online at http://www.borderwarmovie.com/test/.
Beginning with a Los Angeles launch on August 31st, Border War will have theatrical premieres in major cities nationwide throughout Septemberincluding Phoenix, San Diego, Nogales, AZ, Washington, D.C., Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas, and Houston.
This immigration issue has never been so hot. The American people are demanding action at the border and Border War offers an accurate account of the current situation. The mass protests, Congressional hearings, and unprecedented media coverage we have seen recently are proof that the American people want action now on immigration reform, said Mr. Bossie.
Congress will renew debate over immigration reform policy in September, and hopes to reach agreement on a bill that would overhaul Americas immigration legislation for the first time in twenty years.
Citizens United is a Washington, D.C. based conservative grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to restoring our government to citizens control. Citizens United Productions is dedicated to producing thoughtful documentaries to educate citizens about significant public policy issues. Citizens United previously produced Celsius 41.11 to counter Michael Moores propagandist Fahrenheit 9/11 and Broken Promises: The United Nations at 60.

Conservative 'Border War' Movie Gets Backing of Weinstein Brothers
by Robert B. Bluey
Posted Aug 22, 2006A new documentary called Border War, produced by conservative filmmakers in the Arizona desert, has won the backing of liberal Hollywood icons Bob and Harvey Weinstein, whose Genius Products has purchased the films rights.
The movie, which chronicles the lives of five people affected by illegal immigration, is making waves in advance of its big-screen debut next week in Los Angeles. Following its theatrical release, the Weinstein-owned Genius Products will control its DVD and TV rights, according to a source helping to publicize the film.
The documentary was produced on a $350,000 budget by Citizens United Productions, a Washington, D.C.-based conservative organization that made a splash in 2004 with Celsius 41.11, a film made to counter Michael Moores Fahrenheit 9/11.
Citizen United President David Bossie said the concept behind Border War: The Battle Over Illegal Immigration first came to him last September as the group considered its next major project. It just so happened that in the course of the past year, illegal immigration has skyrocketed to one of the top political issues in Washington and across the country, especially among conservatives.
Im hoping our film really will create a discussion of the issues and give people a viewpoint of what really is going on at the border and how illegal immigration impacts the American peoplefrom Teri March, the widow of the L.A. County sheriffs deputy, to Congressman J.D. Hayworth, who is frustrated trying to put immigration reform on the agenda in Washington, Bossie said.
It really is a snapshot of the problem, he added. Im hopeful that Border War will do for border patrol agents what the television show Cops did for your average, everyday police officer.
The Los Angeles premiere will be on August 31, followed by theatrical premieres in Phoenix, San Diego, Nogales, Ariz., Washington, D.C., Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas and Houston. Bossie said depending on the success of the documentary, it could open on more screens. Celsius 41.11, for instance, played on 130 screens.
The documentary features Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R.-Ariz.), U.S. Border Patrol agent Jose Maheda, open-borders advocate Enrique Morones, Lupe Moreno, a Hispanic-American member of the Minuteman Project, and Teri March, the widow of a patrol officer murdered by an illegal alien.
A trailer of the documentary is available at BorderWarMovie.com/test.
AZ-05: Hayworth And Mel Gibson In Right-Wing FlickRuh roh.
Rep. J.D. Hayworth -- proud author of a book on illegal immigration -- is now starring in a new documentary on the subject! The film, which looks to us like a species of right-wing anti-immigration porn, is produced by Citizens United, the conservative group that brought us Celsius 41.11.
The doc also carries an appearance by right-wing bete noir Mel Gibson, who's role in the movie is as yet unclear...

Thanks the U Tube link worked. Is that the notorious anti-Semite Mel Gibson in the trailer? (/sarcasm) Odd. I would have thought they would have at least cut him from the trailer. That's a lot of baggage they don't need.
Yooohooooooo.
Weinstein? What the...?
Wonder if it'll be out on DVD...
Tukwilla Washington is about 2.5 hours away. I think I'll wait for the DVD.

Ruh roh.
Why "ruh roh?"
Isn't he allowed to be right on some issues?
Wow, I want to see this, will it be opening for the general public viewing real soon?
Good idea! And I'll buy Dane a big bucket of popcorn.
