One thing I find interesting is that the socially conservative types who are anti-porn are in agreement on this topic with many dedicated feminists who see porn as anti-woman and degrading to all womanhood.

Political world views sometimes intersect in the oddest places.

I am not a prude but I do agree porn is a problem. A good friend of mine was terribly addicted to porn (he had it playing in his dorm room 24/7, without much exaggeration). It clearly was an obstacle to him connecting romantically to an actual female and cultivating a relationship. While it is difficult for me to imagine that porn does some notable, unique good, the question is just how bad is it?

I think this guy is off base when he says there is a causal link between porno and sex crimes. The Meese Commission 20 years ago researched into that, and if those guys couldn't make a case for such a link I doubt a link exists.

Still, very dedicated feminists consistently disagree and have made the case for years that porn debases women and sexuality, and those are common-sense links along the chain towards committing a sex crime.
