I think Savage sounds like he's being intentionally obtuse and it makes him sound actually stupid. The guy said 5 times, not if it breaks a law, so it takes Savage 10 minutes to finally hear that? Sheesh, get on with it.
Savage was clearly messing with the caller to get some cheap laughs, mostly because he was a high-pitched voice/effeminate male calling in to defend porn. That's just comedic potential, that's all.
I don't think it made Savage sound stupid. It does suggest he is in a particularly ornery mood today. :-)
