The first part of Steve and Olaf's story was fascinating - but Greta derailed it when she "pushed ahead" and cut them off, to bring on the wife and brother who had nothing important or interesting to add. And Jennifer's story was more than fascinating - hope we get to hear the end of it someday, because she got cut off, too.

If I am correct, it is from the frustration she feels when people say that the journalist should just "call them out" no matter what. While that might make us feel better in the moment, in the long run it would make our job of taking out the islamofascists more difficult.

Over the last few years, there have been many reactionary posts around here along the lines of "bomb them all" and "we need to just say all Muslims are evil." Again, cathartic perhaps, but there would be horrible consequences and make the job harder for those on the front lines...the military, the diplomats and even the journalists.

Words have enormous consequences. I think her frustration comes from feeling like people don't understand "verbal self-discipline" as a necessity.

Or...I'm projecting. But I think I got it right.

I really wanted to hear how they felt about the "conversion" I certainly understand why they did, I just want to know how they felt about it. But, on the other hand I consider my faith very personal. Maybe they don't want to discuss it in public.

They sure did cut if off..right at the part about the threats that Jennifer and Fox were getting...AND no mention of the conversions??

If they don't schedule another show to finish the story...they are not wanting it all out there.

Perhaps if Steve and Olaf were to say that they weren't really converted...they would really fear for their lives...and who knows..Jennifer and Fox may still be getting threats.

"cut their own throats" is what he said. Meaning by kidnapping the journalists, other journalist would leave and their story 9the Pali's story) would not be told. Thus: "cut their own throats".
