A perimeter has been set up at Cedar, Bullard, Barstow and Millbrook, while police search for the suspects. Traffic is backed up and blocked off around the area and Hoover High School is currently on lock down.
Witness describe the suspects as two black males who are armed. They report that the shooting happened near 10th and Cedar and that several shots were heard. Witnesses say the shooting happened from a car and then both the men fled from the vehicle.
Take the f@#*ers out.
I passed Cerdar/Bullard around 0845 and saw that the S/B lane of Cedar between Bullard/Barstow was closed off. When I got to Bullard/First I saw a two man Sheriff's partol vehicle rolling Code 3 E/B on Bullard with a Fresno Motor officer behind him, also rolling Code 3. At that point I realized that this was probably a shots fired officer needs assistance call.
Ditto!!
I tried to put that in the title but I had to shorten it because it was too long. Anyway, it is Fresno State University, but they like to call it California State University at Fresno.
My old alma mater! Haven't been around those old stompin' grounds for quite a while!!! I used to live near 6th and Cedar.
My ROTC hubby, also an alumni, whisked me off to many locales, until we retired from the USAF in northern VA in Jan.
His folks live in Sunnyside and my son just returned yesterday from a week long visit with them!
Hope they find these creeps.
I haven't heard an update, but I will post back to you as soon as I do. Sunnyside is still a very nice area, but the money has long since moved north.
Just caught an update, and the suspects are still at large.
According to the Fresno Bee, one suspect has been taken into custody. It appears that the police do know the identity of the other. The officer who was injured "suffered minor hand injuries when bullet fragments or flying glass hit him during the early-morning chase."
At 2200 hours KMPH TV News in Fresno said that both suspects are in custody. Their web site isn't updated, but I will ping you if you wish when it is.
