Sharansky: Now We Can't Say We Weren't Warned 13:17 Aug 29, '06 / 5 Elul 5766
(IsraelNN.com) MK Natan Sharansky (Likud), responding to Shabak (General Security Service) chief Yuval Diskins briefing to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee Tuesday, said it was the most alarming security assessment he had ever been privy to in his lengthy political career.
"For ten years I have been hearing security reports. I have never heard such an unequivocal and frightening report that calls for immediate action, Sharansky said. "Every kind of weapon, except for tanks and airplanes, are getting into the Gaza Strip through the Philadelphi Route, including terrorist experts who have been trained in Iran. Hamas is establishing a terrorist army in Gaza.
Now it is no longer possible to say they didn't warn us."

Some people mystified by Israel's "disproportionate" response to what looks like "only" a couple of kidnappings don't understand that those were much more than business as usual. A campaign conducted simultaneously by Hamas and Hezbollah, funded and coordinated by Iran, is in reality a major escalation.
Now the killing grounds shift back to the Gaza. Somebody better call Kofi.

Stuffed peppers.
As you must know, any good recipe for stuffed peppers requires rice.

Among others, the State Dept will be surprised.
The Media will be surprised.
Kofi will be surprised.
All the surprised people will let you know that it is a real blow to the "peace process".

Looks like the Egyptians are doing their typical bang-up job of policing the area. They sure rushed to the border when it looked like Israel was push the palesimians into Egypt.

Imagine that. How did it become so easy for the terrorists to smuggle sophisticated arms into Gaza.
Shin Bet chief: Sinai becoming haven for terrorists and smugglers
By Gideon Alon, Haaretz Correspondent
Shin Bet director Yuval Diskin warned Tuesday that the Sinai Peninsula is becoming a haven for arms smugglers and is being used as a terrorist base.
Speaking during a six-monthly review to the members of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Diskin said that the threat from Sinai and the adjacent Gaza Strip posed a strategic problem for Israel.
"If we don't move to counter this smuggling, it will continue and create a situation in Gaza similar to the one in southern Lebanon," Diskin told committee members.
Could it have anything to do with this?

Oh this is very very good news!
You see Hizbo operated as a state w/in a state. They essentially used Lebanon as a hostage or human shield. Therefore Lebanon could take the moral high-ground when it was attacked by the evil joos.
Now that Gaza has elected a Hamas government the political situation will be quite different. Israel can declare war and this nation in self-defense and utterly destroy every man woman and child there.
please, please Gaza - use some half assed WMD smuggled from Iraq/Syria. Then Israel can take the gloves off and wipe them from the face of the planet. At that point there will no longer be a Palestinian issue to get worked up about.
People will say to one day:
"Remember when there used to be these Egyptians and Jordanians that called themselves Palestinian and tried to take over Israel from the inside?"
"Ya, I don't think they'll ever try that again"

Did you ever think it is in Israel's strategic interest to let Hamas increase it's military capabilities?
Israel cannot justify wiping Gaza clean cause some kid threw a rock at a Jew. Israel needs Hamas to look like an actual aggressive army to the rest of the world.
