But Buchanan doesn't mind propagandizing for the Islamic fascist effort to conquer our country, as long as the Islamists want to destroy Israel, too. Patrick Buchanan is worse than irrelevant.

If Buchanan runs for President in 08 there's a very good chance I'll vote for him. I don't see anyone else on the national political horizon that matches his knowledge of the problems we are facing, his commitment to our nation, nor his patriotism. He is one of the few prominent voices echoing the concerns the vast majority of US citizens are expressing about illegal immigration.

One can be dead wrong on some issues and right on others.

I believe America was not simply an accident of geography or a job market, but a people who were seeking a better place to worship the living God, but then deists, skeptics, deists, and Darwinists cannot accept that.

Closer to home, Los Angeles may be a model of what America is to become. Sixty-one percent in the City of Angels speak a language other than English at home, which means they don't listen to English-language radio and TV programs, don't get their news from English-language newspapers and magazines, and don't share our heroes, history or holidays. In the "new America" the only common denominator needed is to be on U.S. soil.
THE "NEW AMERICAN".....
.....<

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.
Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.
For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.
As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico. George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000. |
You can read the speech here.
Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:
In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. My Bush Epiphany By Lawrence Auster

The Path to National Suicide by Lawrence Auster (1990)
An essay on multi-culturalism and immigration.
Bet this get relegated to "Chat".

Mr. Auster, like myself, supports Israel as well as American nationalism. Some people seem to find this confusing.

You could be on to something, Gary. Although, such a belief in thought & action will probably never catch on- here in the United States of America.

The USA has a long history of immigration. There is also a long history of public opinion of immigration that is confirmed in today's public opinion of immigration(legal and illegal).
Americans don't like immigrants. Americans think that those immigrants who came in "earlier times" were "good people". While Americans may dislike immigrants as a group, they usually embrace the immigrants that they personally know.
To: Ben Ficklin
I have no problem with legal aliens.
I have a problem with those who overstay their visas and those who just invade our Country.
I do have a big problem with those who pimp for these criminals!
