I find it fascinating they bent over backwards to defend policies that would have them up in arms if they came from a Democrat sitting in the Governor's chair.

I find it telling. They care nothing for the Republican platform or for conservatism.
The only object of their mission is ARnold.

Religious institutions should never take state money. Then they become tied to the state in debt, deed or favor.

The state has set its self up as God. It wants to tell you what to be. What to spend your money on. How to raise your children. What values you should have. All for its own glory.

The state makes for a lousey God.

How many complaints have you heard about the "state", and I mean all levels of gov. here, in the handling of the Katrina aftermath?

How many complaints have you heard about the efforts of Samaritan's Purse in the handling of the Katrina aftermath?

When the state seeks its own glory, it will fail. When a religious institution seeks glory for God, it will succeed.

I support many religious institutions with my money. They seem to know how to help society, and then God gets the glory.

I also spend alot of money on a tax accountant to keep the governments hands off as much as my money as possible, so I can give it to the ones that really know how to spend it, while giving glory to the one who deserves it.

Tax cuts!!! for all my Californian friends. Then take that money and dump it in to charity.

The state should only be responsible for Defense, Infrastructure, and Law & Order. They've got no right to use my money for their so-called social charity. I'm reminded of the Davey Crockett story. We could use a lesson like this:

The final defenses of Arnold's defenders are crumbling. Their pat defense is Angelides is worse. Well, my retort to that line is: even Angelides didn't sign this bill yet! Arnold did!

(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo! )

"I fully expect Arnold to approve after the election). "

Can we make a bet/Deal?

If Arnold will NOT sign it after the election either, will you stop posting anything about Arnold?

And if Arnold signs the single payer universal healthcare bill, I will stop posting about Arnold.

Deal?

*Nothing* MUST be allowed to destroy the hero. For some people, that's a psychological crutch. I agree they could care less about the Party or conservatism but one thing they care about strongly is defending their image of the candidate even when all the evidence tells them what the candidate stands for doesn't comport with their image. For that reason, people like FO are never going to abandon Arnold even as it becomes obvious he is a Democrat in all but name.

(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo! )

Someone has probably mentioned this already, but this may be the catalyst that will energize a majority of taxpayers to start cutting state subsidies with initiatives.

No, because I won't be able to post until he does, which is open season for you.

It is pretty stupid to think you can sucker anybody with that kind of bogus parity.

What I find telling is how far FO will go to deflect criticism of this bill. This was FO's big chance to prove intependence, to join conservatives and buy some cheap cover for later assertions that the account isn't just a mouthpiece for a closet leftist.

Didn't happen. That the account didn't take advantage of the opportunity denotes that there has to be a reason for the behavior, which I think boils down to one of two possibilities:

  1. Either FO is a mouthpiece, forbidden to say anything whatsoever critical of Arnold, in which case the account should be banned because it isn't the "grassroots activism" of which this forum is supposed to be composed, OR...

  2. FO wanted this bill to be signed into law.
My guess is that it's the latter.

Chances are good FO will a find a way to defend socialized medicine. After all, the the basis of his support is Arnold IS better than the Democrat!

Nothing, Angelides is a psychopath and a real estate crook.

Happy now?

For the record: show us where you opposed Arnold signing this bill.

Here I am, living in SD county, a Republican conservative to the core, and I feel betrayed and beat up by the Terminator.

Don't know what to do come November.

With a stroke of his pen, Arnold has crossed me off his list of fans and supporters.

Don't think he'll be getting my vote ... I'll either leave it blank or ... write in Tom McClintock?

I'm depressed ... my head will be a little more clear by election day, and I'll figure out what to do then.

One thing's for sure ... the Guv is a pansy in my book ... an immoral, amoral pansy.

He beat the Devil is one of his movies ... in real life, he's sold him his soul for vanity and power.

Hasta la vista, Arnold.

I call it like I see it. When a Republican acts in a manner contrary to our party's platform and conservative principles, for me its open season on him. Forget about the 11th Commandment.

Vote FOR the GOP downslate ticket - solidly conservative. Vote FOR Prop. 82, 85 and 90. And be sure to vote NO on Arnold's bonds. If there was a NOTA, every one on here would vote it. Feel free NOT to vote for Arnold to send him a message.

(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo! )
